IFM Investors was established more than 25 years ago to protect and grow the retirement savings of pension and superannuation fund members. We seek to maximise long-term returns to millions of working people worldwide through investments that generate social and economic benefits for the wider community. We look to achieve this by focusing on sustainable investment in Infrastructure, Debt, Listed Equities and Private Equity assets, and through the ongoing management of our essential infrastructure assets, which include toll roads, ports and airports. Active engagement with the companies in which we invest is also fundamental to our approach. We champion respect for the environment, commitment to an inclusive society, and good governance—a practice that we believe enhances their productive capacity and net performance over the long term. IFM has honoured these principles since day one, when a group of profit-to-member Australian pension funds sought to create, own and operate an investment management model that prioritised the interests of investors. Today, we invest on behalf of more than 600 like-minded institutions worldwide, including pension, superannuation and sovereign wealth funds, universities, insurers, endowments and foundations. The A$217 billion entrusted to us by these investors, as at 31 March 2023, incorporates the retirement savings of more than 120 million individuals worldwide.
