OpenSky, now Alibaba.com North America & Europe, is the innovative business-to-business trading platform Alibaba acquired in 2017. Prior to its acquisition, OpenSky helped tens of thousands of SMBs trade billions of dollars in goods every year. Since the acquisition, the business has more than doubled each year and expanded to include Europe, accounting for the two largest and fastest growing markets on Alibaba.com OpenSky was founded in 2009 and raised over $50 million from top-tier investors, including Providence, Highland, Canaan, Raine, Endeavor & SV Angel. Alibaba Group acquired a minority stake in 2015, a majority stake in 2017 and a 100% stake in 2018.
