The Development Initiative Limited (TDI)

TDI provides commercial and humanitarian landmine clearance, unexploded ordnance disposal, training and remote logistics solutions in inaccessible and often hostile locations, primarily across Africa and the Middle East. TDI was established in 2005 to provide a range of professional services to multinational companies, governmental and non-governmental organisations. To date, TDI has successfully undertaken over 65 projects in 15 countries including Angola, DRC, Mali, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Togo, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Côte d'Ivoire and most recently Central African Republic. Among other achievements, TDI has cleared over 26 600 km of routes and roads, removed over 59,000 items of unexploded ordnance and safely destroyed over 450 tonnes of unserviceable and obsolete munitions. TDI considers each contract's unique parameters and terrain in order to provide the appropriate and necessary tools to get the job done efficiently, cost effectively and safely.
