About TEDx In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.) TEDxAddis TEDxAddis is an independently organized TEDx event operated under license from TED. About speakers at TEDxAddis TEDxAddis presentations will feature 18 minute talks. A carefully prepared presentation of this length can have astonishing impact. Everyone hears every presentation; there are no breakout sessions. Most speakers stay for the entire duration of the event, soaking up the inspiration, and connecting with other fascinating attendees. In fact, the main reason to come is to join an extraordinary conversation with an extraordinary group of people. TEDxAddis will not pay speakers to attend, but we're committed to creating an experience that's tremendously fulfilling and beneficial on all sides. TEDxAddis talks will be distributed online. The presentation will be beautifully produced; broadcast-quality video podcasts of the best presentations at TEDxAddis will be offered free to the public. The talks at TEDxAddis will prove extraordinarily effective at spreading ideas.
