The Ballard Center opened its doors in 2004 as the Center for Economic Self-Reliance, and has continued to grow since then. Run solely with funds from donors who are dedicated to giving students transformative educational opportunities, the Ballard Center was designated in 2012 as one of 30 Changemaker Campuses around the world by Ashoka U.
