Metra is more than just a rail system. We are a team of professionals who help connect our community members to the people and places that matter most. We serve the residents, visitors and businesses of Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane and McHenry counties in northeastern Illinois, with a system that spans more than 500 route miles, 11 rail lines and 242 stations. Our service relies upon the expertise, dedication and teamwork of every individual at Metra. We all contribute to Metra's success, no matter the role. Our mission is to provide on-time, reliable rail service that meets our passengers' expectations, all at an affordable rate.
