Mitre 10 has been a part of New Zealand's home improvement culture since 1974. New Zealand owned and operated with a nationwide network of stores, Mitre 10 is a true Kiwi success story. Today we are New Zealand's largest home improvement and garden retailer and continue to grow through both share of market and number of stores. Our trade business is also steadily growing with more and more trade professionals seeking to partner with us. To support this DIY and trade expansion we have expanded our supplier network in both New Zealand and overseas and are steadily building upon our competitive advantage by providing great pricing and increased range for customers. Customer service and staff training is also a big focus area. Many New Zealanders have grown up with Mitre 10 and trust the brand so much so that it has been awarded the most trusted brand in New Zealand in home improvement retailing on numerous occasions. That trust comes from knowing we are a locally owned co-operative that plays a valuable role in the communities in which we operate. While we share a name, we're completely independent of the Mitre 10 group in Australia. For these reasons local communities are very important to us. To give a little something back we support all four major fifteens provincial rugby competitions in New Zealand as well as the New Zealander of the Year – Community of the Year Award and the Neurological Foundation on top of many individual projects that are supported by our local stores to help their local communities.
