In 2001, our Chairman and VFG Founder Steve Distante acquired the firm and rebranded it as Vanderbilt Financial Group. We're often asked why the name "Vanderbilt" was chosen; the answer is simple: Cornelius Vanderbilt had the foresight to invest in an innovative transportation system in America which connected a country spread over a large land mass, was the foundation of our modern-day infrastructure, and is still in use today.
