Blessings in a Backpack Waukesha County Chapter

Blessings in a Backpack of Waukesha County mobilizes community volunteers, schools, government agencies, and businesses to provide weekend meals to school children who are facing food insecurity. We partner with local schools to deliver nutritious, child-friendly food to ensure that local children have food for the weekends. It's estimated that nearly 15,000 children under the age of 17 in Waukesha County are suffering from food insecurity and not knowing where their next meal will come from! From our humble beginning in 2012 as a 100% grassroots volunteer program feeding 25 kids in one school, we have continued to expand our reach. We become an official chapter of the national Blessings in a Backpack organization in Sept. of 2020, establishing an executive-level Director and a Board of Directors. Blessings in a Backpack is a Platinum-rated charity through Charity Navigator and a Four-Star level nonprofit through GuideStar.
