International Observatory of Young Catholics

The International Observatory of Young Catholics is the result of the journey thus carried out by the Movement "NoiPerBenedetto - We're4thePope" after the convening of the first International Meeting of Young Catholics for Social Justice held 20 to 24 March 2013 at the Pontifical Lateran University (Vatican) under the patronage of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, and the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. The Observatory seeks to be a door that connects the youth of the world with the Church of Rome, which presides in charity over all the Churches and that, in the person of the Roman Pontiff, becomes the cornerstone and guide of all Christians. Empowering young people to become active voices for a just society and encouraging them to feel at home in the Church, by discovering the beauty of Christ and the nourishment offered through the faith, serving the poor and the people in need, are amongst the goals of the Observatory. The Movement's concrete actions may include the evangelical activities in the suburb and outskirts, supporting the IOYC's missions in the poor countries, the preparation of young people for dialogue with the secular reality, to enter the debate on the issues of greatest interest in the social and public realm, as well as active involvement in various local contexts. Utilizing modern media and social instruments of communication, action awareness-raising through social networks, and especially the enthusiasm of the young people who can be called the global force with which the Church must be united in order to face the tsunami of secularization.
