El Real Betis Balompié fue fundado el 12 de septiembre de 1907. La denominación de Real Betis Balompié se caracteriza por ser una de las pocas del fútbol nacional con vocablos de origen exclusivamente castellano, y la más antigua con esta característica. Sus máximos galardones son un título de Liga y dos copas del Rey. Fue el primer equipo andaluz que jugó en Primera División, que ganó la Copa del Rey en su actual formato y que ganó la Liga Española. También fue el primero en jugar la Liga de Campeones de la UEFA en el actual formato. El Real Betis Balompié juega sus partidos como equipo local en el Estadio Benito Villamarín. La cifra de socios de la entidad siempre oscila entre los 45.000 y los 52.000. En cuanto a peñas, el club verdiblanco es el cuarto equipo de España que más tiene, con un total de 462 repartidas por todo el mundo. -- Real Betis Balompié was founded on 12th September 1907. The club's name is characterised by the fact that it is one of the few teams in the country with a completely Spanish denomination, and the oldest of them all. The clubs honours include one Spanish League and two King's Cups. Betis was the first team from Andalusia: to play in the First Division, to win the current format of the King's Cup and to win the Spanish League. Furthermore, it was the first Andalusian club to play the UEFA Champions League in its current format. The Benito Villamarín Stadium is Betis' home ground. Real Betis has a number of season ticket holders that oscillates between 45,000 and 52,000. Also, the 462 fan clubs spread all over the world place it in fourth place amongst the Spanish clubs.
