George Telegraph was established on 16th May 1920. It addressed the potential gravity of the unemployment problem in India. George Telegraph is registered trust dedicated to human resource development to the requirement of Indian industry, is one of the pioneers of industrial training in India. Within a brief period of establishment, George Telegraph was recognised as a centre of excellence by diverse bodies such as the British Army, the British Railway Board, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, Department of Labour, Government of India, Railway Board, New Delhi, Maritime authorities and various Chambers of Commerce. Today, it offers a most comprehensive range of Training Programmes in the fields of: •Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Commercial Practice, Communicative Studies and Computer Software through a network of centres in Eastern India. •The only Institute in India selected by the Government of India for training of British Non- Commissioned Officers and men of the British Army throughout India. •One of only three organisations in India to function as an Examination Centre for Proficiency, First and Second Class, COP/ROGC/REG/RT(R)/RITM (Maritime) conducted by the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. •Selected by Department of Labour, Government of India, as a Civil-Military training centre. •Recognised by Railway Board, New Delhi, as a training centre for Railway Employees in Wireless Telegraphy. •Recognised by Regional Directorate of Resettlement and Employment, Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
