Wells of Hope Ministries

Wells of Hope Ministries provides children of inmates (living with HIV/AIDS; those whose parents are on death row; and those serving long sentences) with quality and affordable education by paying school fees and provision of basic needs like food, clothing, medical care among other welfare packages. Situated at Hope Village Kyajinja 32 miles away from Kampala City, Uganda is a residential school for children with incarcerated parents which was started by the organization inJanuary 2010 to offer education and also implement programmes that will prevent harmful effects of parental imprisonment on children. The organisation has a secondary school called Hope High School (located in Semuto-Nakaseke District), where children who have completed primary at the Junior School proceed for secondary education. Wells of Hope supports children in tertiary institutes; university and vocational institutes. The organisation conducts Health programmes aimed at boosting the health of inmates and their families. Wells of Hope Ministries is supporting over 800 inmates living with HIV in Uganda, by donating high nutritive food supplements. The organization provides psychosocial programs aimed at helping inmates and their families cope with living with HIV & AIDS and incarceration. Over 1000 inmates have benefitted from this program. The programmes are also aimed at helping formerly incarcerated people resettle back in the community. Through Economic Empowerment support, the organisation helps the families of inmates and the formerly incarcerated women to better their livelihoods.
