The importance of Infant and Child Nutrition: Nutrition in infancy and childhood is the foundation of health and development in later life. It even plays a vital role in IQ! Providing your child with a healthy balanced diet early on teaches positive eating habits and build the desirable relationships with food. Most illnesses have an impact on nutritional requirements and dietary intake. A dietitian trained in paediatric dietetics and with the required experience, has the knowledge and skills to adapt and modify your child's nutritional intake to ensure that they are receiving the appropriate amounts of nutrition to compensate for this and still encourage optimal growth. After spending 8 years in the UK specialising in Paediatric and Paediatric Hepatology Nutrition, I relocated to Windhoek, Namibia. I work alongside the local as well as Paediatricians from other parts of the country. All children grow up to become adults, to whom I am able to offer individual consultations for all dietary-related conditions. I am also a trained Geneway™ Health Care Practitioner and can assure you that genetic testing opens up a whole new world of accurate and individual healthcare management. At present this is a service of which the patient needs to carry initial costs of genetic testing, but I can assure you that this is the golden route to longevity!
