Periodically, the PMO issues a "Request For Qualifications" (RFQ) for Architectural-Engineering (A-E) firms to submit their qualifications to perform design for a specific project or projects. The submittals are typically 25 pages to be evaluated by a committee. Professional services are selected on the firm's qualifications in response to the RFQ. The PMO is performing a significant task to insure projects are completed to the complete satisfaction of the end user; Pre-Design. First step is to have a detailed topographic survey performed on the sites to be developed. This allows the planning involved with locating the proposed structures to insure the scope of work for the design work is thorough and comprehensive. A pre-design report is prepared and made available to the end user for review and comment before finalizing.
