Each company executes its own business strategy, consistent with its vision and optimized for its unique environment. SK Energy is the first and largest oil refiner in Korea. In 2013, SK Incheon Petrochemical and SK Trading International were split from SK Energy. SK Incheon Petrochemical focuses on high value-added petrochemical products, while SK Trading International trades petrochemical and crude oil products. SK Geo Centric, a global leader in the green chemicals and life sciences, is evolving into the largest "urban oilfield company" that converts plastic waste back into oil. SK Enmove is a world top player in the lubricants and base oil market, well recognized in European, North American and Asian markets. SK IE Technology established a foothold to become a global material solution company for information and electronic materials as it was physically divided from SK Innovation in 2019. SK IE Technology is leading the wet separator market with advanced LiBS (Lithium-ion Battery Separator), and a member of RE100. In October 2021, SK On and SK Earthon officially became new independent companies under SK Innovation after the spin-off of Battery Business and E&P Business, respectively.
