SAD is a design concept store featuring South and Southern African products. A wide array of products are selected on the basis of: quality, authenticity, craftsmanship, originality and design. The emphasis is on the narrative and concept behind the brands which are all ethically and sustainably sourced and produced. There is a strong focus on "made by hand" and rarity. The objects and various lines are not mass-produced or mainstream. Creative practices have thrived in the new South Africa: food, fashion, music, craft, design, architecture & art - have all blossomed to collectively represent a vibrant, young, cross-pollinated culture. The individual stores are distinct and curated to reflect this vibrancy, uniqueness and energy, whilst providing a calm, relaxing & textured experience for visitors.
