Arusha Society for the Protection of Animals (ASPA)

The Arusha Society for the Protection of Animals (ASPA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1997, registered under the Societies Act of Tanzania - Society No: 9058/97. ASPA was established to provide support to the Arusha community on animal welfare issues, ranging from providing animal health care, community mobilization, education sessions within schools and villages and to engage with the local law enforcement and councils on improved legislation and compliance to the Animal Welfare Act. At ASPA our mission is "to promote community-led and sustainable Animal Welfare in the Arusha area through education, animal health care, advocacy and networking" with a vision of creating "a society of happy animals, happy people". Our goal is to improve awareness, attitudes and practices relating to the humane treatment of all domestic animals in the Arusha area of Tanzania.
