Horacio Oduber Hospital

As the only hospital in Aruba, our employees fulfill an important task for our population and the more than one million tourists coming to our One Happy Island every year. Opened its doors in 1977, the organization consists of three parts: SZA (Stichting Ziekenverpleging Aruba) – the main hospital; LABHOH – the hospital and country laboratory; and the Blood Bank, altogether as ONE TEAM: the Horacio Oduber Hospital Aruba: HOH. The HOH has a strong position in de region as we deliver care to patients of other islands around us. We are also a member of the Dutch Caribbean Hospital Alliance (DCHA) – a cooperation of all the hospitals within the Dutch Caribbean. We are proud of our strategic alliances and collaborations with strong aligned partners, including the country laboratory of Curaçao (ADC), Streeklab Haarlem, the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU), Erasmus Medical Center (EMC), Radboud University, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), Maastricht University, Xavier University, Thomas Moore in Belgium and partner hospitals in Colombia. Our goal is relatively simple: happy employees & satisfied customers. It's the key part of our vision: Accessible healthcare for everyone without compromising on quality. We work every day towards a result that exceeds the expectations of our clients and patients. Everyone who works in our hospital is therein equally important and significant. We encourage passion, a smile and knowledge. Yearly: Our 1,300 employees helping around 42,000 people in the emergency room and 60.000 patients in one of our outpatient centers. We have about 9,800 admissions in our nursing wards and treating 400 patients in a full equipped ICU. We have 218 beds and perform over 6,000 operations. We supply 2,600 blood products and perform 1.2 million laboratory determinations.
