Emergency Management Bay of Plenty

Emergency Management Bay of Plenty (EMBOP) leads emergency management in the Bay of Plenty on behalf of the member Councils of the Bay of Plenty Civil Defence Emergency Management Group. EMBOP leads and coordinates emergency management across the 4R's of reduction, readiness, response and recovery in collaboration with communities, local, regional and central government, emergency services, lifelines utilities, non-government organisations and business. Vision: A safe, strong Bay of Plenty, together. Toi Moana, Kia Haumaru, Kia Kaha, Mā Tātau Katoa. Goals; • Reducing risks from hazards in the Bay of Plenty to acceptable levels • Increasing community awareness, understanding, preparedness and participation in CDEM • Ensuring an effective response capability • Ensuring an effective recovery capability • Robust monitoring and evaluation Emergency Management Bay of Plenty was established in July 2015.
