As the resident theatre company of the iconic SBW Stables Theatre in Kings Cross, Griffin dedicates itself to the nurturing, presentation and promotion of outstanding Australian playwriting and contemporary performance. An engine-room for theatrical discovery, ingenuity and diversity, Griffin exists to bring playwrights and new writing to the stage, consistently garnering national and international attention. Having produced countless ground-breaking plays such as 'The Boys', 'Holding the Man' and 'The Bleeding' Tree since its establishment in 1978, Griffin continues to invest in artistic and audience development—with professional opportunities for playwrights and directors, workshop and commissioning initiatives, education and outreach projects, on top of an annual program of works in production.
