The Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA) is an Executive Agency of the HM Treasury, and is the specialist provider of internal audit services to central government. Our vision is to be the primary, trusted and expert provider of consistent, high quality audit and assurance services across Government, that are valued by our customers and recognised as a catalyst for improvement. Our Service is one in which the most talented want to work and are proud to say they have worked. Across Government, the Agency provides services to 15 departments, as listed below as well as over 120+ of their related arm's length bodies (ALBs): • Cabinet Office • Department for Business and Trade • Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport • Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs • Department for Education • Department for Energy Security and Net Zero • Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities • Department for Transport • Department for Science, Innovation and Technology • Department for Work and Pensions • Department of Health and Social Care • His Majesty's Treasury • Home Office • Ministry of Defence • Ministry of Justice The GIAA also provides assurance services to the European Commission, providing both the UK Government and the European Commission with advice and assurance on the implementation of the various programmes such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Furthermore, the GIAA is home to our Counter Fraud and Investigation team who work to deliver and improve counter fraud services for government departments, agencies and the wider public sector. Our people work flexibly across our client base and in regional offices. Most of our client- facing professionals are qualified internal auditors and/or accountants.
