The Woodland Stewardship Company is an independent forest management consultancy and was launched in 1996. WSC provides a wide range of forest management services and has developed significant expertise in surveying and quantifying woodland assets using GIS mapping and DGPS to provide forest valuations, advising owners with regard to the on-going management of their woodlands, preparing woodland management plans under the English Woodland Grant Scheme and Glastir in Wales and recommending appropriate silvicultural operations to match the site including alternatives to clearfelling (ACF) such as Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF). Martin B. Jones is Managing Director with 15 years of experience in UK and US forest management and forest certification and is a Professional Member of the Institute of Charted Foresters and a Certified Forester with the Society of American Foresters. His responsibilities include manager of client portfolios and forestland investments, Woodland ‘Champion' advisor for ‘Heartwoods' in the Marches, ‘Glastir' Woodland Management Advisor and ‘Glastir' Woodland Creation Project Officer in Wales.
