Keeping the growing demand of tertiary level education of the people in mind, Comilla University was established in 2006 as the 26th public sector university of Bangladesh. As a result, the untiring effort and wait of the people of this region was over when the announcement of establishing Comilla University came. The people of Cumilla were overjoyed as their concerted effort and demand of a university here for long and their contribution in spreading and nurturing the tradition of exploring knowledge and culture had at last got recognition in the form of the foundation of this university.Comilla University has at last become a milestone in the history of higher education in Bangladesh. Set beside the ancient Shalban Bihar, one of the world's remarkable Bihar at Cumilla, this University is not merely an educational institution, it takes its pride on having a glorified historical significance too. And so its name and fame is soaring up with the passage of time not only in the country but in the world as well.  To meet up the great expectations of the country in the field of higher education, the university is moving smoothly on the way of achieving academic excellence and adding its share to the overall development of the country. With its unique academic and administrative set up, the university has already attracted the attention of the scholars from different parts of the country and abroad as well. The teachers, the students and the officers are performing their roles wonderfully to make it a university with an international quality of education and research. The university aims at imparting quality education, creating new knowledge and enhancing the critical sensibility of the learners in every possible sense. Logically, it tries to contribute to the intellectual growth of the country and make every effort to provide a harmonious ambience to nourish that intellectuality.
