High Water Women Foundation

Who we are: Our name derives from the high water mark measure that incentivize hedge funds to outperform their last best gains. By seeking to surpass prior achievements with each new endeavor, our organization and our volunteers produce amazing results. High Water Women (HWW) is a 501 (c) 3 organization founded in 2005 by women in the hedge fund and investment industries with a focus on providing enriched educational opportunities and the economic empowerment of women and youth. We are a volunteer-driven organization with more than 3,000 business professionals participating in a wide range of volunteer opportunities with nonprofit partners, and HWW programs in financial literacy, microfinance, an annual backpack drive, and other initiatives for low-income children. HWW provides a financial literacy program for thousands of low-income teens in NYC through the High Water Women Muriel Siebert Campaign for Financial Literacy. Since 2005, the annual Backpack Drive has provided more than 100,000 area school children with fully supplied backpacks to start school. With volunteers who bring professional expertise in finance, risk management and investments, we have pioneered a model that helps microfinance institutions reach sustainability. Expanding on its work in microfinance, HWW has held an annual thought leadership Symposium on Impact Investing since October 2013 for Family Offices, Endowments and Foundations and other investors.
